Local restaurants attract Green Jeans distillery to open new location

A Green Jeans Farmery distillery is opening another location and it’s the tenants that were already there that attracted it to the Uptown area.

Matt Simonds, owner of Broken Trail Spirits and Brew, is opening a new location on the corner of Menaul and Louisiana boulevards, the same development as local restaurants Fork and Fig and Filling Philly’s. Simonds said he signed the lease at the Coe & Peterson property in May, but the idea to expand Broken Trail has been in the works for about a year. Construction is underway at the 2,500-square-foot taproom. Simonds is doing the majority of contracting work himself and Scott Anderson and Associates is the architect.
